On Tuesday April 1, 2008 I attended the weekly meeting of the group Bringing Broken Neighborhoods Back To Life (BBNBTL). What is amazing and inspirational about the group is while they began as a federal Weed & Seed site, seven years later they have managed to keep the group together and addressing neighborhood concerns utilizing local resources and community will.

VISION: We are a model police/community partnership, combining the efforts of law enforcement, the faith-based community and other community organizations in an effort to improve the quality of life for all citizens of the city of Fresno. We view the city and its surrounding communities as one community, with the common goal to promote healing and establish a positive future, free of violence and filled with a feeling of security, where families prosper and children reach their fullest potential.

MISSION: The mission of "Bringing Broken Neighborhoods Back To Life" police/community collaborative is to provide on-going opportunities for citizens to have a direct encounter with a message of hope for the future, provided by the faith-based community and other organizations whose goal is to promote and sustain peace and prosperity in our neighborhoods.

They have a multitude of events and community activities planned monthly. For more information attend one of the weekly meetings which take place every Tuesday at 9:00am at the Southwest Fresno Police Station, 1211 Fresno St, Fresno, CA (559) 621-6100‎.
